1. The overall grade is calculated by counting each PRS quiz as 25% of an exam, dropping the lowest PRS quiz score, and dropping the lowest exam score, then adding the final exam score, the film extra credit, andthe observing test score (including extra credit). For student registered for labcredit (4 .sh.) the lab score is also added (with 25% weight).

a. The 'Sum Exams' column is the sum of points for 3 out of 4 exams (lowest one dropped), for a possible total of 300 pts.

b. The 'Final Exam' column is the final exam score (150 pts total).

c. The 'Sum PRS' column is the sum of 8 out of 9 PRS quizzes (lowest dropped), each counting 25 pts, for 200 pts possible.

c. The 'Film EC' column is extra credit for the Black Hole Film (14 pts possible).

d. The 'Observing' column is the Observing Test grade (50 pts mandatory, plus up to 50 pts extra credit).

e. The 'Lab' column is the laboratory grade in percent. If you were registered for lab (4 s.h.), the lab counts 233 pts
