jd,lst

jd and lst are simple commands that report the current Julian date and local sidereal time at the Winer 
Observatory. jd has several options as shown below (option -h).

Usage: jd: [options]

Purpose: print current or convert between various time formats.

         "timestamp" refers to YYYYMMDDhhmmss.

jd -t              : print current UT as a timestamp

jd -T <JD>         : convert given JD as a timestamp

jd -u <t>          : convert UNIX time to a timestamp

jd -U <timestamp>  : convert timestamp to UNIX time

jd                 : print current UT as JD

jd MMDDhhmmYYYY.ss : convert "date" format to JD

jd <timestamp>     : convert timestamp to JD

jd <JD>            : convert JD to "DOW MMM DD HH:MM:SS UTC YYYY"
